Recently Signed Bill Solidifies PEO's ability to Write Carve-Outs in TX

Great news for PEOs with clients in Texas, Gov. Perry recently signed Senate Bill 1286 into law allowing, among other things, for PEO client companies in TX to elect work comp coverage either through a master policy or on a stand-alone basis. Interpretation of two previous TX Supreme Court rulings (TX Work Comp Fund v. Del Industrial, Inc. and Wingfoot Enterprises v. Alvarado) led carriers in TX to not allow carve-outs previously.
